Mathematical Biology is an interdisciplinary area that focuses on the
application of mathematics to biological systems. Mathematical biology spans all
levels of biological organization and biological function, from the
configuration of biological macromolecules to the entire ecosphere over the
course of evolutionary time. The International Conference on Mathematical Biology 2007 provides the
opportunity to bring together the people, projects, and issues from all over the
world to share experiences and examine the challenge of applying mathematics to
biological problems.

LOCATION
Conference Venue
The conference will be held at the Equatorial Bangi-Putrajaya Hotel, Bandar Baru
Bangi, at the outskirts of capital city of Kuala Lumpur. It is located next door
to Malaysia's administrative capital, Putrajaya and the Multimedia Super
Corridor in Cyberjaya- a 10 to 20 minutes drive.
The 5-Star business resort’s location in the midst of a 27-hole
championship-class golf resort (with night-golfing facilities) is a popular
choice for local and international events.
About Kuala Lumpur
More than any other spot in the country, Kuala Lumpur, or "KL" as it is commonly
known, is the focal point of new Malaysia. While the city's past is still
present in the evocative British colonial buildings of the Dataran Merdeka and
the midnight lamps of the Petaling Street nightmarket, that past is everywhere
met with insistent reminders of KL's present and future. The city's bustling
streets, its shining, modern office towers, and its cosmopolitan air project an
unbounded spirit of progress and symbolize Malaysia's unhesitating leap into the
future. To some, this spirit seems to have been gained at the loss of ancient
cultural traditions, but in many ways KL marks the continuation rather than the
loss of Malaysia's rich past. Like Malacca five hundred years before, KL's
commercial centre is a grand meeting place for merchants and travelers from all
over the world.
In the same way, the city brings together Malaysia's past and present, its many
constituent cultures, and even its remarkable natural treasures, allowing
first-time visitors an invaluable opportunity to see Malaysia as a whole before
setting off to explore its parts. In the botanical and bird parks of the Lake
Gardens one is treated to a first glimpse of the unsurpassed beauty and variety
of Malaysia's plants and animals. In the vibrant Central Market, music, crafts,
and cultural practices from Kelantan to Sarawak can be explored and experienced.
And in the National Museum, the dizzying multiplicity of Malaysia's cultural
history comes into focus. As the entry point for most visitors and the meeting
point of the country's many attractions, Kuala Lumpur is a grand gateway to a
fascinating destination.
Kuala Lumpur Location
Kuala Lumpur is situated midway along the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, at
the confluence of the Klang and Gombak rivers. It is approximately 35 km from
the coast and sits at the centre of the Peninsula's extensive and modern
transportation network. Kuala Lumpur is the largest city in Malaysia with a
multiracial population of over one and a half million people drawn from all of
Malaysia's many ethnic groups. Please visit the following websites for

About Putrajaya
Putrajaya is the new Administrative Centre of the Federal Government of Malaysia
taking the capital city away from Kuala Lumpur (population 1.8mn), leaving Kuala
Lumpur as the country's financial and commercial capital. Moving the national
administrative machinery from Kuala Lumpur to Putrajaya is in line with the
Government's policy to provide a more balanced development away from Kuala
Lumpur. It is a decision motivated by life in Kuala Lumpur and ensures continued
growth in the Klang Valley.
Situated along the South Growth Corridor within the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC),
the development of Putrajaya marks a new chapter in the history of modern city
planning in Malaysia. It is set to be a model garden city with sophisticated
information network base on multimedia technologies. Termed as Malaysia's first
Intelligent Garden City, Putrajaya will become a vital development catalyst due
to the role it will assume as a model city - as the nerve centre of the nation
and an ideal place to live, work, conduct business and engage in sports and
recreational activities.
Supporting the MSC is a high capacity, fully digital telecommunications
infrastructure designed to the highest international standards in capacity and
reliability. Putrajaya will use multimedia technologies to become an electronic
administrative centre. Interdepartmental communications and interactions with
the public will be conducted via electronic and multimedia channels. The
development of Putrajaya and its twin city, Cyberjaya, will position the MSC
competitively in the international arena. Putrajaya promises a comfortable and quality lifestyle for its residents. Lush
greenery, botanical gardens and parks are spread across landscapes enhanced by
large bodies of water and wetlands. Residential areas are supported by
commercial hubs and public amenities that are planned and integrated for an
ideal "live-work" environment. Please visit the following
